Booking a Santa
How to Book a Home-Visit Santa (and What to Ask)
A home visit from Santa is short, usually 15 to 30 minutes, and it's worth planning well. Good Santas book up early, especially for Christmas Eve, so start looking in October or early November.
Where to look
- Ask other parents, your church and local event venues who they used last year.
- Look for Santas who list their area, services and prices clearly.
- Send a request through DoorstepSanta with your ZIP code and date.
Six questions to ask
- Do you have a current background check, and can I see it?
- Are you insured for home visits?
- Can you give me references from last season?
- How long is the visit and what's included?
- What is the total price, including travel, deposit and cancellation terms?
- Do you bring gifts, or do I hand them to you at the door?
Before the day
Send Santa the details he needs to make the visit personal: names, ages, pets, a recent achievement, and where the gifts will be. Our free Santa visit checklist keeps it all on one page.
On the day
Have someone watching for Santa so he isn't left waiting. Keep a phone ready for photos, but put it away for the first minute so you see their faces.
